Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Fable Editing, every project involves dedicated time, scheduling, and personalised editorial work. Please review the following refund and cancellation policy before booking services.


Cancellations Before Work Begins

Clients may cancel a booking before editing work has commenced for a full refund of any payment already made.


Cancellations After Work Has Begun

Once editing work has commenced, refunds are generally not available for completed work or time already spent on the manuscript.

If a project is cancelled partway through, Fable Editing may issue a partial refund at its discretion based on the amount of work completed.


Editing Services and Subjectivity

Editing is a professional and subjective service. While every effort is made to provide thoughtful, high-quality editorial feedback, Fable Editing cannot guarantee:

  • Publication outcomes
  • Agent or publisher interest
  • Sales performance
  • Reviews or reader reception
  • A manuscript being entirely error-free

For this reason, refunds are not provided based on dissatisfaction with subjective editorial opinions or publishing outcomes.


Project Delays

If unexpected circumstances result in significant delays from the editor’s side, clients will be informed as soon as possible. Where appropriate, alternative arrangements or partial refunds may be discussed.
