Welcome to Fable Editing. By booking editing services through this website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions.

1. Services

Fable Editing provides editorial services including, but not limited to:

• Manuscript critique
• Copyediting
• Proofreading

All services are provided in good faith and to the best of the editor’s professional ability.

2. Quotes and Booking

Quotes are provided based on the information supplied by the client, including manuscript length, genre, and requested service.

A booking is only confirmed once both parties agree to the scope of work, pricing, and timeline.

Fable Editing reserves the right to decline projects at its discretion.

3. Payment

Invoices are issued electronically once an agreement has been reached between parties.

Work may require a deposit or full payment in advance before editing begins.

Late payments may result in delays to delivery of services.

All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated.

4. Refunds and Cancellations

Clients may cancel a booking before work has commenced for a full refund of any payment made.

Once editing work has begun, refunds are generally not available for completed work or time already spent on the project.

Partial refunds may be considered at the discretion of Fable Editing in exceptional circumstances.

Because editing is a subjective and professional service, specific publishing outcomes, agent interest, sales, or reader responses cannot be guaranteed.

5. Turnaround Times

Estimated turnaround times are provided in good faith but may vary depending on project complexity, manuscript condition, illness, emergencies, or workload.

Clients will be notified as soon as possible if delays occur.

6. Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for:

• Providing accurate project information
• Submitting complete manuscript files
• Ensuring they hold the rights to the material submitted
• Reviewing edited documents and feedback carefully
• The client retains full responsibility for the final content of their manuscript.

7. Intellectual Property and Confidentiality

All copyright and intellectual property rights remain with the client.

Fable Editing will not share, publish, or distribute client manuscripts without permission, except where required by law.

Reasonable efforts will be made to maintain the confidentiality and security of client materials.

8. Limitation of Liability

Fable Editing is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of editorial services or this website.

While every effort is made to provide accurate and high-quality editing, no guarantee is made that a manuscript will be entirely error-free.
